anne frank: a history for today

what to expect

  • Anne Frank: A History for Today is a permanent exhibit at the Anne Frank Center in Columbia, SC. It was designed in collaboration between the Anne Frank House and University of South Carolina.

The exhibit explores the life and legacy of Anne Frank by sharing quotes, photos, videos, and original artifacts to represent the experience of Anne’s family as they hid in the Secret Annex.

By sharing Anne's legacy with visitors, students and teachers, the Anne Frank Center seeks to inspire our commitment to never be bystanders but instead to stand up together against antisemitism, bigotry and inequality wherever it may exist today.

  • The museum is open only to pre-scheduled, guided tours. Our tours welcome guests through five exhibit rooms - including a replica of the Secret Annex - for approximately 75 to 90 minutes.

Each tour holds up to 15 people and is ideal for individuals, couples, or small groups of friends and family.

Due to the nature of the exhibit content, students and children ages 12 years and up are suggested. Younger ages are allowed, but the museum staff defers to parental discretion.

  • The museum is only accessible for guided tours. Each visitor needs to register for a tour on Eventbrite.

Tour times are posted 4-6 weeks in advance. Once registered, you will receive a ticket electronically.

Upon arrival for your tour, please be prepared to provide a printed or electronic copy of your ticket to museum staff.

  • There is a suggested contribution of $10 per person - payable in person or online. Cash, check, and/or card are accepted.

However, do not let the suggested contribution stop you from visiting - we encourage all visitors to contribute what they can.

All USC faculty, staff, and students are free to visit the museum.
